Joy Lutheran holds an endowment fund tasked with supporting ministries and projects. We look for and encourage requests for projects that reflect the mission of Joy Lutheran Church. The responsibility of the Endowment Committee is to disperse funds equally between these four areas: within the congregation, within the Tulsa metropolitan area, within the ELCA Arkansas-Oklahoma Synod, and within the ELCA church-wide body.
The past few years we have given to a variety of ministries, including Family Promise, Oaks Mission, Comunidad De Esperanza, Bethlehem Lutheran in New Orleans, Operation Hope, Clarehouse, Little Light House, Bit by Bit, Elca Leaders, Joy Quilters, Owasso Community Food Bank, City Lights, Oklahoma Prison Ministry, among others. We have over the course of the Endowment’s existence given $148,650.00! What a Joy it is to give!
The Mission Endowment committee will be soliciting requests for funds to be dispersed at our November 2 meeting. Since we did not disperse funds in March, this will be our only dispersement for 2020.
