Outreach at Joy

We believe that one of the best ways we can show the love of God to our neighbors is by being a good neighbor to our community. That's why we partner with organizations around Tulsa County to provide service, help raise funds, collect and deliver donations and help those in need. Here are some of the organizations we work with to do God's work with our hands:

Getting involved:

Email Sister Jennie or call the church office at (918) 299-3292 and leave a message to learn more about the Witness Team, who dreams about and makes outreach opportunities available to the congregation. It’s our joy to notice new visitors, to welcome each person, and to help them find their way around Joy. We also strive to further connect members, seeking new ways to gather people to interact in different ways and get to know each other more deeply.

Events the Witness Team has championed:
- Book drives to benefit Jenks East
- Clothing drives to benefit Tulsa Boys Home/Jenks East Elementary & Intermediate
- Volunteer to work and play with kids and families at Jenks East’s 1-2nd grade literacy night

We also believe that one of the greatest joys of belonging to Joy Lutheran is getting to know your fellow members better. We love to pray together, dance together, dream together and form unbreakable bonds through worship and fun events outside of worship service. Here are some examples of fellowship events connecting members to get to know each other better:

- Campfire and marshmallows night
- Cookout and concert series (eat at church and walk across the street to Shops of Seville for an outdoor concert)
- Christmas caroling & s'mores at nearby nursing homes
