Along with many other ELCA Congregations,
Joy Lutheran is participating in the Book
of Faith Initiative. We believe the Bible is
the "first language of faith." To know
the Scriptures is to know about God, about the world,
and about ourselves. Come and join us!

Sunday Mornings: Joy
offers adult Christian education opportunities Sunday
mornings in between services. We use a small group model
usually offering two or more classes to choose from. In
recent years, these classes have discussed "Spiritual
Gifts," "No Experience Necessary," "Religion
and Science," "Heaven and Hell," and "Underestanding
our Neighbor's Faith." In the Fall of 2008, we will
offer Book of Faith studies and one study that looks at:
Signs of Belonging: Luther's Marks of the Church and
the Christian Life. This book explores Luther's teaching
on the seven marks of the church: possession of the Word,
Baptism, Sacrament of the Altar, Office of the Keys, Office
of Ministry, Discipleship, and the cross (suffering on
account of one's faith).
Mosaic
and other videos published through the ELCA are shown
once a month with time for discussion following. If you
can't make it to the class, you can watch Mosaic videos
anytime on YouTube.
AM Women’s
Group: The AM Women’s group meets the second
Wednesday of each month, at 10:00am for Bible Study and
fellowship. Come join us for a cup of coffee and study.
Esther Circle: The Women’s Esther
Circle meets every Thursday evening at 7:00 PM. They focus
on more short-term material so come when you can! We enjoy
our fellowship and nourish our souls and spirits at the
same time. We look forward to seeing you!
Men’s Bible Study: This small-group
study meets at Joy on Wednesday evenings from 7 to 8 PM.
